WHEN CHARACTER MATCHES CAPACITY
Closing the gap between ability and integrity

When Charcter Matches Capacity by Ashley M. McDonough discusses how leadership can open doors, but character determines whether you can carry what those doors require.
When Character Matches Capacity is about becoming the kind of leader who can carry what God has called them to. It focuses on the connection between gifting, character, discipline, humility, and spiritual maturity, showing that capacity alone is not enough without the character to sustain it.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

I believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21). It is the final standard for truth, doctrine, and daily living (Psalm 119:105; John 17:17). Scripture is not merely informative—it is transformative (Hebrews 4:12). It reveals the character of God, the condition of humanity, and the path of redemption through Jesus Christ.
I believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). God is holy, sovereign, just, and merciful (Isaiah 6:3; Psalm 103:8; Daniel 4:35). He is the Creator and sustainer of all things (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16–17). Humanity is created in His image with inherent dignity and purpose (Genesis 1:26–27).
I believe that all people have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12). Sin separates humanity from Him (Isaiah 59:2) and cannot be overcome through effort, morality, or personal achievement (Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5). Salvation is found in Christ alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).
I believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 14; Colossians 2:9). Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23), He lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21), and physically rose from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Luke 24:6–7). Through His death and resurrection, forgiveness and eternal life are offered to all who repent and place their faith in Him (John 3:16; Romans 10:9–10).
I believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone—not by works (Ephesians 2:8–9; Galatians 2:16). Those who trust in Christ are justified before God (Romans 5:1), adopted as His children (Romans 8:15–17), and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13–14). True faith produces spiritual growth, obedience, and a transformed life (James 2:17; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
I believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer (1 Corinthians 6:19), empowering them for holy living (Galatians 5:16), discernment (John 16:13), leadership, and service (Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7). The Spirit convicts of sin (John 16:8), guides into truth (John 16:13), and equips believers to fulfill their calling (2 Timothy 1:7).
I believe the Church is the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27), called to worship God (John 4:23–24), make disciples (Matthew 28:18–20), serve others (Galatians 5:13), and proclaim the gospel (Romans 1:16). Every believer has a role in strengthening the body and advancing the mission of Christ (Ephesians 4:11–13).
I believe in the return of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11; Revelation 22:12), the resurrection of the dead (John 5:28–29), eternal life for those who belong to Him (John 10:28), and eternal separation for those who reject Him (Matthew 25:46; 2 Thessalonians 1:8–9). This truth compels urgency, compassion, and faithful witness (2 Corinthians 5:20).
My ministry is rooted in the conviction that identity is found in Christ (Galatians 2:20), leadership flows from character (1 Timothy 3:1–7), and transformation happens when biblical truth is applied with courage and humility (James 1:22; Micah 6:8). I am committed to teaching sound doctrine (Titus 2:1), equipping leaders (2 Timothy 2:2), strengthening families (Deuteronomy 6:6–7), and pointing people to the hope found in Jesus alone (Colossians 1:27).
